Since 2002, the Kuskokwim Art Guild has grown to benefit scholarships for adults and youth, summer art camps, the Best In the West business startups, Bethel Bowls for the homeless, individual artist start-ups, the artist gift shop, and the promotion of local and regional artists.
Steel Salmon and Raven Auction 2020
The annual auction is being moved virtually online with our host www.32auctions/SalmonRaven2020. Excitement is once again in the air to this new delivery. It is mobile friendly.
Community members donate pies to be sold, many pie plates made by ceramic artists Fundraiser for scholarships, individual artist grants, operational expenses. Held annually on December 23rd.
This annual fundraiser engages the community on all levels. Prior to the event, folks are welcomed to the studio to create pottery bowls which are sold at Bethel Bowls filled with hot homemade chili made by volunteers. A fun, family activity to look forward to every spring!
YPCC summer youth camps
KAG donates $3,000 annually as a scholarship for all students taking “arts” related camps at the cultural center.
Individual Artist Grants
Up to five $500 artist grants awarded annually to local artists who have a specific need or project.
Individual Student Scholarships
Middle and high school aged students attending art camps outside of the YK region can request specific amounts as needed.
Arts Support Grants
Awarded as needed to UAF/KUC enrolled students to purchase art supplies for specific courses.
KAG Higher Education Art Scholarship
Two $1,000 scholarships offered annually to YK region graduating seniors or college freshmen pursuing degrees in the arts.
Juried Art Show
Co-sponsored with the Yupik Museum. $1,100 in prize awards
**Welcomed donations from community businesses to supplement KAG philanthropic include items to be raffled and cash donations.
